There’s lots of talk about the environment these days. While many of us don’t have the where with all to renovate our homes and buy new cars to minimize our environmental impact, learning about the vulnerability of the earth has made the desire to be a solution to the problem contagious. That said, Graphic Mechanic has caught the green bug.

OLGI stands for Our Little Green Initiative and was established with 4 goals in mind.

Goal #1: Learn
Knowledge is empowering. We’re not embarrassed to admit that just a few years ago we were ignorant of how harmful certain daily habits (like tossing a plastic water bottle in the garbage instead of recycling it) are to the environment. Today Graphic Mechanic is researching ways to conform harmful routines into healthier ones and working to become a more accountable to the environment.

Goal #2: Share the Knowledge
We don't have a monopoly on "Our Little Green Initative". In fact we used the possessive word "our" to represent all of us, small businesses, big businesses, government and individuals alike.

Because someone enlightened us, we hope that we can enlighten others, who will enlighten others and so on. The resource link will provide you with links that will help you to start your own little green initiative during your daily business operations, and in everyday life.

Goal #3: Take Action
Understanding how powerful making the right small choices on a regular basis can be in the grand scheme of things is half the battle. Taking action by establishing those new habits is the other half. We’ve learned that even though the procrastination of one small business may not seem like a big deal, the effects of the thousands of businesses inactively procratinating increases our threat to the earth exponentially.

Goal#4: Challenge Big Businesses to have a
“Big Green Initiative”
As consumers we have more power than we know. Our actions don’t have to be drastic. No need to lie down in front of a bull dozer, but simply asking a question or two about what is being done within a company to support the environment might help get that company on the path to making a difference.

The Little Green Initiative is our pledge to be more accountable to the earth. We’re one small business (hence the term “ little”) among millions around the world, but we feel that if we take the initiative to be more eco-friendly like so many other businesses have already done, we can make big change that will positively impact the earth.
